Snowfield Development Corp. ("Snowfield" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has completed the purchase of a Longyear 28 diamond drill. The drill is currently en route to Snowfield's Ticho Project, host of the diamondiferous Mud Lake kimberlite, located 55 km south east of Yellowknife, NWT. The drill was purchased in Winnipeg and is expected to arrive in Yellowknife over the weekend of March 3rd, 2007. Snowfield is also awaiting confirmation of the availability of a third diamond drill and crew from an independent drill contractor.
The ongoing shortage of drilling equipment and personnel motivated Snowfield to purchase this Longyear 28 diamond drill. The Company has been training a crew to operate the rig once it is assembled as Snowfield has a very active exploration program planned for the Ticho Project in 2007.
Snowfield is currently drilling its second hole under Sipper Lake to identify a kimberlite body, known to be located in the immediate area. The latest report on the progress of hole Sipper 02 shows the hole cased to a depth of 265 feet with a mag high target of 320 feet. The hole was collared in granite bedrock at 72 feet and entered a diabase dyke at a depth of 193 feet. This hole will be continued to test the dyke's underside or bottom contact for a possible kimberlite structure.
