News Release (NR 06-08) - March 06, 2006

Ticho Diamond Project Update

Snowfield Development Corp. ("Snowfield") announces that work has commenced on construction of an ice road over Great Slave Lake from Yellowknife to Snowfield's Ticho Diamond Project located approximately 50 km south-east of Yellowknife, NWT. The ice road will cover a distance of some 65 kilometers following a route down the eastern shore of Great Slave Lake. An approximately 15 km detour had to be included to avoid ice pressure ridges south of the village of Dettah. The road will be profiled by sonar, ploughed and maintained by RTL-Robinson Enterprises Ltd., a major Yellowknife road construction company. The ice road should be completed during the current week. The plowed width of the road will be approximately 50ft which will assist in wind snow scouring and allow for a more rapid build-up in ice thickness. Thicker ice is required to support the movement of additional heavy equipment required to commence a 500-ton bulk-sample of kimberlitic material from Snowfield's Mud Lake kimberlite.

As previously announced, (see NR05-10) Snowfield has accepted an offer by De Beers Canada Exploration ("De Beers") to process the Mud Lake bulk sample at their Grande Prairie, Alberta DMS plant at no cost and with no obligation by Snowfield to De Beers.

Additionally, Snowfield will commence further delineation drilling at the bulk-sampling site at Mud Lake to facilitate the taking of the bulk sample. The drill program is designed to ensure that the extent, depth and volume of the underlying kimberlite, which will be exposed by trenching, will fully satisfy the bulk sample requirements. Additionally, Snowfield is investigating the availability of a second diamond drill rig for mobilization to the Ticho Project and the availability of personnel to commence 24 hour per day drilling programs.

Previously scheduled drilling at the Gten16 property, under an option agreement with Consolidated Goldwin Ventures Inc. ("Goldwin"), was delayed until lake ice conditions attained the necessary ice thickness to accommodate air transportation of equipment to the site for further drilling of the Gten 16 Claim targets. Alternate methods for surface mobilization of equipment are being investigated to expedite this drilling and further announcements as to the scheduling of this program can be expected. Under the option agreement with Goldwin, Goldwin can earn a 49% interest in Snowfield's Ticho Project GTen 16 mineral claim.
